There are a lot of end of time predictions turning up on YouTube at present, some claiming that the world will end on July 29, 2016 or in August as a result of a collision with a mysterious “Planet X” (sometimes called Nibiru). Others claim that supernatural forces or the Creator will bring about end time events. There can be no doubt that many of the events occurring around the world today do appear to be fulfilling Biblical prophecies, but there are other prophecies that have as yet to be fulfilled.
Relying purely on Biblical prophecy we should expect several other events before the predicted end of our world. One prediction concerns an invasion of Israel where the invaders will be defeated but “not by the hand of man”. The possibility is of course is that this invasion may have already occurred, the prediction might refer to the 1948 invasion of Judea and Samaria by Jordan or even the fact that Jordan was created on land that was originally part of ancient Israel; all of this creates confusion when it comes to assessing whether this prophecy is being fulfilled. The invaders have not at this time been driven out by strange forces.
Several Biblical prophecies do predict an asteroid strike, from Daniel’s prediction of a great rock from Heaven that will smash the final empire of iron and clay to the prediction in Revelation of two great rocks – one the size of a millstone and one as large as a mountain. The Bible also says that the events of the end time will come “as a flood” meaning all very close together and quickly.
Prophets other than those in the Bible have also made predictions that make the present day appear to be a significant time in history. St. Malachy in 1139 CE predicted all the Popes from his day until Judgement Day and listed the current Pope as the final one before Judgement.
Nostradamus is another well known prophet who appears to have accurately predicted a number of events. But in his Quatrain X 74 appears to have predicted the resurrection of the dead and given a possible date.
“The year of the great seventh number accomplished,
It will appear at the time of the great games of slaughter,
Not far from the age of the great millennium.
When the dead will come out of their graves”
It is assumed that by “the great games of slaughter” he is referring to is an Olympic year as the ancient Olympics were celebrated by the slaughter of a thousand bulls. This is a good effort because there were no Olympics in Nostradamus’ time (1500’s) the modern Olympics were begun in the 1890’s. He might just as easily have been predicting a great slaughter at a games event but no doubt we will recognise the event if it occurs.
The prophecy that would prove that we are indeed facing Judgement Day is the one that predicts, “The days will be shortened”. What is often overlooked is that the days will be shortened by one third and the night also, which is saying that the Earth will rotate more rapidly on its’ axis reducing a day to sixteen hours or only two thirds of its’ current duration. An event such as this would certainly have people looking at the Bible more seriously and could be the trigger to bring about Isaiah’s prediction “And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, saith the Lord.” Isaiah 66:23. This prediction appears to imply that all people will observe Jewish traditions as taught by the Bible and the Rabbis (including Jesus).
We do live in interesting times but there is more information in my books and website www.prophecyline.org
