I was asked if I thought the events portrayed in the Hollywood version were anything like what would happen. The truth is that the movie has only taken a couple of predictions and sensationalised them to entertain their paying customers.
Many of the film's concepts are worth noting; how those with money for example ignore the suffering of everyone else while trying to save themselves. The movie concentrates mainly on volcanic and earthquake activity, which while a major problem is not the whole story.
Prophecies also assure us we will see wars, comets, asteroid and meteor impacts, a supernova, flood and famine. Now if that doesn't spook you just a little bit the one prediction that everyone ignores is that there will be Judgement.
We are only now starting to understand just how much what we do and say affects the universe, but scientists have recently concluded that the world may not be as real as we think. Craig Hogan of Fermilab produced a theory that suggested the universe could be "projected" from some distant place and when he sent the figures to the GEO600 research lab they discovered the evidence; check it out by putting that string in Google.
This structure is becoming more in line with religious teaching so don't be surprised at the shape of doom, it won't come like the Hollywood versions and it won't be nearly as general. No place will be safe but you might well be alright, predictions say if two people are standing together one is ok the other not. We see this sort of thing everyday where freak accidents take a life and spare another but the tally predicted is for the destruction of two thirds of Earth's population.
